Our whiskey school offers courses for all levels. We have classes for connoisseurs, and others for beginners who are simply curious to learn more. Led by our team of in-house whiskey experts. You will walk away with both a pronounced appreciation for whiskey and a light skip in your step after one of these fun and dynamic courses. All classes are held upstairs in our tasting room. The space has been designed specifically for these classes and all details have been considered. A long 16’ black walnut tasting table, moderator podium, projection screen, sound-proofed curtains and a separate PA system. Tastings start on time, so please arrive early to avoid any interruption.

You will learn how to appreciate these whiskies and exactly what makes each one so unique. This class is a treat for those looking for something a bit more special. Whisky and cheese is a match made in Single Malt heaven. Join us for an exclusive class, in which you will discover why whisky’s complex notes compliment palatable cheeses. Jordan Zimmerman, Edrington’s NY Brand Ambassador and former Murray’s Cheese Education Manager, will expertly guide you through this mouthwatering pairing class, and you will learn how to pair fine Scotches with artisanal cheeses.
You will nose and taste the following selections:
– The Macallan 10 year Fine Oak paired with Vermont Creamery Cremont
– Highland Park 12 year paired with Clothbound Cheddar
– The Macallan Rare Cask paired with Two Sisters Isabella Gouda
– Famous Grouse Black Grouse paired with Fourme d’Ambert

Did you know that there are over 90 distilleries in Scotland who make whiskies that do not feature smoke or peat? After taking this class, you’ll understand peat’s role in the production of Scotch, as well as completely understand concepts like cask-strength, chill filtration, and other bottle-label snippets. Credit may be issued for a future class by notifying us in writing at least 7 days prior to class date by emailing Evelina at Evelina@TheFlatironRoom.com. Or you are free to transfer your space in the class to a friend, family member or colleague. Simply email Evelina@TheFlatironRoom.com with the name of your substitute.
