Tommy Tardie from The Flatiron Room talks about how he designed his bar to be mature but without pretension. He highlights the bar’s bottle membership program, where you can purchase a whiskey bottle and they will store the bottle for you until your next visit. He also talks about NoMad’s rise in popularity and says the neighborhood “speaks volumes to what New York City is all about.”
Experience NoMad also has a nice Q&A with Tommy. Excerpt:
Q: Favorite art installation at Madison Square Park?
A: This was some time ago but I’ve got to go with the Tree Houses. I grew up in Maine so for me this brought back really strong memories of childhood. The city has a way of making you forget that you were once a kid who skipped rocks, climbed trees and ate popsicles for dinner. The Tree House Exhibit was a nice reminder of youth.
