One of the Most Beautiful Bars in NY

Thank you to the website (great URL!) for including us in their list of “Beautiful Bars”…

“Whiskey gets the spotlight at this Gatsby-esque lounge, but clearly, just as much attention is put into the room design. Atop the 100-year-old wood floorboards, pulled from a mill in Maine, the parlor built in 1927 still displays its “aristocratic wealth” in leather banquettes, hand painted coffer ceilings, vintage Italian wallpaper and black walnut tables. The restored mahogany bar itself comes from a favorite Sinatra hangout, the Ballroom, while the stage with velvet curtains in the back channels the chairman’s spirit in nightly performances of jazz vocalists. Perhaps after a sampling some of the more than 1,000 whiskeys available — from the backwoods of Tennessee to the highlands of Scotland to the natural springs of Japan — you’ll be ready to drop the mic, too.”
